Small but mighty!

A tribute to Mercedes-Benz, the maker of the smart for two

The smart for two even fits into half a parking space – lengthways and crosswise.

It may not be the smallest car in the world, but it is certainly one of the most practical. The smart for two isn't necessarily just “for two” – sometimes it's “for one”, when the passenger seat is needed for a huge DIY-store haul. In crowded cities, half a parking space is often enough, and if need be, even parked sideways.

The parking, packing and transport marvel

In the smallest of spaces, the smart offers surprisingly many possibilities. The large tailgate makes loading easy, and even bulky boxes and cartons fit – whatever doesn't fit in the cargo area simply goes on the passenger seat. Large doors make getting in and out easy.

Efficiency you can feel

Its low weight delivers brisk acceleration, a short braking distance and low fuel consumption. The short wheelbase gives a very small turning circle – ideal in the hustle of the big city. Add excellent all-round visibility, low maintenance needs and a body that still looks fresh after more than 20 years.

Light, air and sunshine

Large windows and a glass sunroof provide excellent visibility all around and the feeling of almost sitting outdoors – a window to the sky.

Made in Germany – and a thank-you

The smart is an example of German engineering, realized by Mercedes-Benz around the year 2000: a technical masterpiece – efficient, practical, durable and inexpensive to run. Commercially, however, it was apparently less successful for the manufacturer, and production was discontinued. Our smart was bought in 2002 from the dealership Leseberg, which still services and cares for it today. A heartfelt thank-you for that, too.
